How to refine a search in HeroHunt.ai

Next to the RecruitGPT option to create your search automatically, you create a search manually or refine the automated search.

The following search options have the biggest impact on your search results:

  • Job title

  • Keywords

  • Location

You can also use additional options like a freelance search option, company name option, language, degree and school name options.

Here's how to work with the job title, keywords and location.

Job Title

Insert the Job title.

Include a generic job title like ‘DevOps engineer’ or ‘Sales executive’.

Tips:

  • Keep the job title simple, with 1 - 3 words

  • Don't include any other information than the job title in this field (for example don't include your company name here)

  • Avoid creative job titles like "coding ninja", stick to the common job titles used by candidates

Keywords

Keywords exist of 'Required' keywords and 'Nice to have' keywords.

Required keywords have to be on a profile for the profile to appear in your search results, so don't use too many required keywords, because this will limit your search results.

For optimal results use 1 - 3 required keywords.

Steps to follow for the keywords are as follows:

  1. Copy and paste the latest job description or requirements list in the description step

  2. Hit ‘Next’ and your keywords will be automatically recognized and given to you

  3. Review the keywords and their priority, change if needed by dragging and dropping

Tips:

  • If you don't have a job description, you can also add relevant keywords manually in the next step

  • For optimal results, include 1 - 4 required keywords, move the other keywords to Nice to have keywords.

Location

Insert the location where your candidates can be found.

You can also choose to search without a location (for remote positions for example), in that case leave the location field empty.

The location can be a country, city or region like a metropolitan area.

You can also search in multiple locations at the same time by adding several locations, for example Germany, France, Netherlands

Suggestions of locations will pop-up when you start typing your location, select the right location.

Tips:

  • Avoid very specific locations (like small cities or towns) in combination with a lot of required keywords, this will limit your results

  • Realize that if you include locations with a low population size (like 20.000 inhabitants) it will be hard to find the right talent with very specific other filters

Good to know when creating your search

  • HeroHunt.ai takes synonyms of keywords into account. For example, if you have ‘Engineer’ in your job title, HeroHunt.ai also searches for ‘Developer’, ‘Programmer’ and ‘Coder’.

  • HeroHunt.ai searches talent automatically for you through platforms like LinkedIn, GitHub and Stack Overflow.

  • HeroHunt.ai enriches profile information so you receive the most accurate matches based on complete and up to date skills information.

  • You can exclude job titles, keywords or locations by clicking 'Add' and then click on the toggle to 'Exclude'
