Filters: how to exclude keywords, skills, and companies from a search

To refine your search process, let's take a look at how to exclude instead of only include keywords and other details.

Updated over a year ago

There are plenty of pieces of information we can add to refine our search in getting the best and most suitable candidates. But what about excluding skills, titles, or even companies to ensure we filter those profiles out? Let's look at some examples.

In any of our search parameters we can see a toggle that when clicked turns to 'Exclude'.

Now we can see how our search will be affected in the best possible way to omit those search parameters we have put in place. The same applies for keywords as well.

For Keywords, or skills, we will apply the same practices: set the toggle to 'Exclude', type your keyword that you want to exclude, then click 'Add'.

Perhaps you don't want to include candidates from a particular company because there is a non-compete agreement with that company or candidates from that company are simply not preferable. Also in this situation you can use the exclude option. Again, go to the 'Other Options' tab.

Scroll down until we see 'Company' then put in which company they would be from, or companies we do not want to see the candidates coming from.

After adding companies we want to exclude, click 'Add'.
